Tyrell Malacia impresses Man United fans with positive display vs Atletico Madrid

Tyrell Malacia looked sharp vs Atletico Madrid earlier today, with the Man United fans loving it.

Manchester United’s first signing of the summer was one we supporters knew very little about. The Dutchman, Tyrell Malacia.

Our new left-back won our hearts instantly with that massive beaming smile and the positive aura. The only question left was whether he could do it on the pitch.

Well, I’m pleased to say the young defender has made an instant impact. He already looks right at home in the Erik ten Hag system, with Malacia epitomising the modern-day full-back.

Against Atletico Madrid earlier today, it was more of the same from the ex-Feyenoord man. In fact, this was probably his most complete performance.

From minute one, Malacia looked to play on the front foot. There seemed to be a really nice partnership forming with Marcus Rashford down the left-hand side, with the pair working well together. Malacia would also deliver a sumptuous ball over the top, carving out an opportunity for Anthony Martial.

For me, it was more than his attacking ability. Malacia was always in the right positions, always making smart decisions and always offering himself as an outlet.

I already think he’s won the starting job over Luke Shaw, but if Ten Hag doesn’t see it that way quite yet, I don’t believe there’s a massive gap between the two.

Either way, the signs have been massively encouraging and we have plenty to feel good about going forward with Malacia.

As you’d expect, Man United fans were pleased with what they saw from the £12m man vs Atletico. They’d take to Twitter by the masses to express their happiness.
