Tyrell Malacia took to Twitter to send a message to Man United fans following his debut.
Manchester United Football Club kicked off pre-season in the perfect way. Beating Liverpool, under any circumstance, is noteworthy. Erik ten Hag was no doubt pleased with what he witnessed.
Sure, there’s plenty of work to do, but it was nice for the manager to get a look at pretty much his whole squad. Amongst those involved as Tyrell Malacia, who was recently signed from Feyenoord.
Although it’ll take the left-back some time to get fully up to speed, the early signs were promising. The young man looked composed on the ball, super quick, positionally aware and always willing to get forward.
Whether or not he’s ready to challenge Luke Shaw for the starting spot is another matter entirely, though the talent is obviously there.
Anyway, after the game, Malacia took to Twitter to send a message to the Man United fans after his debut. He expressed how happy he was to pull on the jersey for the first time.
We supporters appreciate these little gestures like this. All we ask for is that you wear our badge with pride every single time you take to the field. Malacia absolutely made a great start in that regard.
As pre-season wears on, no doubt we’ll see more of the young Dutchman in action, as Ten Hag looks to formulate some sort of idea in regards to how his Premier League opening weekend starting XI will look like.
Either way, the early signs from Malacia are promising. There’s absolutely a player with potential in there somewhere – and one that fits Ten Hag’s system down to the ground.
It was nice to see you out there, Tyrell!
