Tyrell Malacia is still absent from first-team training, with no timeframe placed upon his return to action.
Manchester United’s 2023/24 season can be defined by injuries. The Old Trafford side were hit with what felt like blow after blow in that area of the field last term, making Erik ten Hag’s already difficult job even harder.
Perhaps defence was the most-hit area of the field. Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw were missing for large portions of the campaign, while we didn’t see Tyrell Malacia take to the field once throughout the term.
The Dutchman picked up an issue last April, with United remaining relatively tight-lipped on the severity of Malacia’s knee. However, the fact he didn’t play once all year leads us all to believe it was a seriously big injury.
Now, the Manchester Evening News have provided the latest on Malacia, as he remained absent as the player’s returned for training this week.
The United star is still missing from first-team training, as he continues his recovery. As things stand, there is no timeframe placed upon his return…
Malacia’s absence likely means we will not see him at all during pre-season, which is another big blow for the Dutchman who is looking to return as soon as possible.
The longer you’re out for, the harder it is to rediscover your form. There are already questions about Malacia. Will he even be the same player after such a major injury? It’s hard to say…
This latest news on Malacia could explain why a move for United to sign Sergio Reguilon is back in the media. This could also suggest we may not see Malacia for multiple months, rather than weeks, at this stage.
