According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, United want to sign 22-year old midfielder Thiago Alcantara. After the father of the Barcelona star revealed he is ready to quit. If you believe reports, he could be available for as little as £15million, which is a steal if you ask me.
He made his Barca debut back in 2009 and since then has gone on to make 99 appearances in all competitions, including 34 last season. His main reason for leaving is the fact that he hasn’t been able to hold down a regular starting spot, and he is prepared to leave in order to get more playing time.
We still need another midfielder and if David Moyes is to continue the United tradition of promoting youth, Thiago would be perfect. He’s available for a similar price as to what we’d have to pay for Ross Barkley, and I know who I’d rather have!
