Yes, you heard it right, United are apparently in the market for Vitesse left back Alexander Büttner. Seeing as we look a little short in that department (with Evra being the only senior LB in the squad), this move makes sense. The 23 year old has played 107 league games for his current club, finding the net 10 times.
Since Fabio’s loan move to QPR was confirmed, we’ve been constantly linked with Everton’s Leighton Baines. However a move for him never materialised, probably due to the transfer fee rumoured to be around the £20million mark. Personally, i’ve never heard of Büttner, he is a product of Ajax’s renown youth academy and has been linked with a move to Southampton this summer.
According to reports, the 23-year old is due to have a medical in Manchester at some point over the next week.
