Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has given the biggest hint yet that he’s set to leave the club.
That’s according to the Carthage Standard. They say the 30-year-old has vacated his Chesire home, as he considers accepting a lucrative offer to move to the Serie A with AC Milan.
It seems as though that, despite Jose Mourinho’s best efforts, the midfielder will be switching for pastures new after spending five-years at Old Trafford.
Personally, I’m somewhat disappointed to see him leave. Sure, he’s not your typical Manchester United player, but he certainly does bring something different to the table. Losing his physicality, height, strength and aerial ability will be a major blow to the self-proclaimed Special One; particularly when the club are trying to score a late goal.
As the old saying goes, though, no individual player is bigger than the club, and if his head isn’t in it, then United’s hand has been forced and they have no choice but to let him leave. The fact that the Red Devils aren’t recuperating any of the £27.5million they paid to sign him five years ago is frustrating, too, but thankfully, the club has rather deep pockets and if they choose to replace Fellaini this summer, it shouldn’t be a problem.
