United plan swoop for Real Madrid duo

Mesut Ozil and Kaka are next up on United’s transfer wish list according to Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo. The figure being reported is around the €55m mark for the pair, both of whom would definitely add some much-needed creativity to the United midfield.

German international Mesut Ozil swtiched to Real Madrid for a mere £12million back in 2010 and United were supposedly interested in signing him then. Since then, Ozil has gone on to make 147 Real Madrid appearances, scoring 27 goals.

Kaka signed for Real for a massive £56million in 2009, but hasn’t really made his mark on the Madrid first team. The Brazilian has drifted in and out of the side for the past four seasons, but has contributed with 29 goals and 32 assists in all competitions.

Both would be welcome additions to the squad, although Kaka isn’t getting any younger and is 31-years old now. Mesut Ozil on the other hand is just 24 and still improving, if we signed him he’d probably walk into the United starting XI.

Will any of these signings materialise? We’ll have to wait and see.
