Well the transfer window only officially opened this morning and it already feels like it is going to be a long summer for Manchester United.
Earlier this week, we covered a story that suggested Jadon Sancho was a top Red Devils target, while the player actually preferred a move to Old Trafford.
However, a report today from The Independent is claiming that any deal for Sancho to move to United has collapsed despite the fact that the Reds were willing to pay £100million to sign the 19-year-old right-winger.
After failure to secure Champions League football, things in regards to Sancho have taken a turn for the worst. The mega-talented Sancho now has ‘major reservations’ as to whether United would be the right environment for his development.
FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are all still interested in Sancho, and if they swoop for the Englishman this summer, it could spell bad news for United’s future prospects at acquiring the ex-Manchester City man.
The worst part about all this is that I simply cannot blame him for not wanting to come to United under the current circumstances. In an ideal world, Sancho would choose to stay at Borussia Dortmund for another year, United will secure Champions League football in twelve months time and then hopefully, he’d be willing to make the move.
