Up to five Man United stars could be sold to generate Jadon Sancho funds: report

Manchester United rumours to Jadon Sancho just won’t go away. The Red Devils need that marquee right-winger to fill another gaping hole within the current squad – although he won’t come cheap..

In a report from The Sun this morning, it is being claimed that United’s transfer budget could be restricted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning money will have to be generated by other means…

Player sales could be the order of the day, with the report naming six United first-teamers as potential departures in an effort to fund a big-money move for Sancho.

Without question, the largest name mentioned in the report is Paul Pogba. Other names included in the article are Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira…

Pogba has turned into a major problem for the Red Devils. A lack of playing time this term due to injury has only fuelled rumours in regards to a potential exit. However, I struggle to see how the Old Trafford club are going to recoup the £89million that they paid to acquire the Frenchman.

The other players have all been in and out of the team over the last twelve months or so. Smalling should command a decent fee, while Lingard still holds value due to his age and contract.

Rojo and Pereira, though, I’m just not sure where the high-level interest is going to come from… Fair play to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if he can sell all five of these guys this summer, mind, as with everything going on right now, that’s going to be extremely difficult.
