Journo explains why Lukaku’s Man United medical won’t happen just yet

Manchester United’s proposed move to bring in Romelu Lukaku seems to be progressing nicely, after a reported £75million offer for the Belgian beast has been accepted by Everton. Now, there is a race against time to get the move sealed before pre-season tour begins.

For Manchester United, they jet out for the United States of America this coming Sunday, and we’re now rapidly closing in on the start of the tour; but no Lukaku medical is in place just yet.

That’s according to the BBC’s Simon Stone, who claims that one will not happen until the Red Devils ask for, and then receive permission from The Toffees, which obviously makes sense.

To me, this makes me think that the finer details of Lukaku’s proposed move to the Theatre of Dreams are still being worked out. When there is such huge amounts of money involved, these things do take time and you can imagine that Everton are trying to eek out every last penny from Manchester United.

You can hardly blame them for this as they are about to lose their key player and they want to maximise what they get for him in terms of a transfer fee and then various add-ons and bonuses.

I think that Edward Woodward will get this deal done, and hopefully, he will be a part of the team that will take on the LA Galaxy when United’s tour matches get underway on July 15th.
