Manchester United may have just been given a huge blessing in disguise, from one of the unlikeliest of sources. According to The Times, Real Madrid could be given a twelve month transfer ban for alleged irregularities in the recruitment of young players.
This is a similar situation with what happened to Barcelona, who got given an eighteen month ban for signing up young players in the incorrect manner, meaning that it is wholly possible the same thing could happen to Real.
If this does happen, it’d mean Manchester United could get at least another season out of David de Gea if they choose to. Although they would run the risk of letting him go on a free transfer the following summer if that is the case.
Thats also suggesting that no other club would come in for De Gea, which would seem highly unlikely because of how good he is and being available on the cheap.
I simply cannot see De Gea signing a new deal even if Real don’t come in for him. Honestly, we’re probably best enjoying him in the four games we have left, because I think he’s gone in the summer whatever happens.
