Van Gaal tells Manchester United to sign Arjen Robben

The new Manchester United manager (who hasn’t even been officially named gaffer yet) has told the club to bring Arjen Robben to Old Trafford, claim The Guardian. Robben, 30, who single-handedly dumped us out of the Champions League this season is said to be frustrated in Bavaria.

Robben would still require an hefty increase on his current £160,000 a week wage package to make the move to Manchester without the pull of Champions League football. However it is believed that the Glazers family are prepared to back Louis van Gaal in the transfer market, and give him a squad that’ll compete for the Premier League crown next season.

At 30, Robben would be nothing more than an impact player for one or two seasons. The winger has been one of the best players in the world this season, and is thought to be valued at around £25million by Manchester United.
