Turkish giants Galatasaray could offer Victor Lindelof a transfer exit away from Man United.

Manchester United Football Club are looking like a completely different outfit under Erik ten Hag. The early signs are undoubtedly positive.

Suddenly, the Red Devils back line looks far more solid than it did under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick. That’s partly due to personnel changes as well as coaching.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez is the undoubted number one pairing at the back right now. Though the club has other options.

Obviously, Harry Maguire remains club captain, while Victor Lindelof has also played his fair share of games as a United player.

The latter is now finding himself at a career crossroads after falling down the pecking order. Turkish media outlet A Spor, with the translation coming via the MEN Live Blog, believe Lindelof could be offered a way out.

Apparently, the 28-year-old United star is attracting transfer interest from Galatasaray. The MEN state that Lindelof is now classed a ‘fringe player’ after just one appearance in 2022/23. Obviously, that gives the player a real decision to make about his footballing future.

What should Man United do with Victor Lindelof?

It’s a weird situation. If you ask me, Lindelof is United’s third-best defender. However, the club will not be able to shift Maguire even if they wanted to. That does make the Swede expendable.

He’s also at that stage in his career where he’s approaching the last chance saloon in terms of getting one final big contract. Will Galatasaray give him what United currently pay? Probably not, but there’s every chance the contract length is greater over in Turkey.

As things stand, I’d imagine United are fairly relaxed about the situation and I’d be very surprised if Lindelof is allowed to leave in the mid-season window.
