Victor Lindelof was the one Man United star named in the BBC Team of the Week after the Red Devils beat Brighton 1-0.

Manchester United were certainly pushed to their limits in the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton on Sunday. Though in the end, the Red Devils did their jobs and booked their place in the FA Cup final.

The game itself was an open affair with both sides having chances. It took spot-kicks to separate the teams, with Erik ten Hag’s men perfect from twelve yards.

Victor Lindelof netted the winning penalty with an outstanding finish, with the Swede clearly buzzing after an excellent display from a personal point of view.

For his outing, the ex-Benfica man was the sole United star who was named in the latest BBC Team of the Week. It was so deserving and it’s brilliant to see him get that recognition.

The Ice Man probably played his best game for United when they needed him the most. He looked super calm and composed alongside Luke Shaw, against an attack that has scored goals for fun this term. Perhaps it’s just a better stylistic fit than when he plays with Harry Maguire, for instance.

I know it’s only one game, but it could potentially offer Lindelof a way back into the fold at United. Many had written off the Swede, but outings like that will restore his personal confidence – while also offering more belief among the supporters, too. If he can play like that for the rest of the season, it does give Ten Hag a tough decision to make.

Hopefully, he can put in a repeat performance in the final against City…
