Victor Lindelof has been named in the latest BBC Team of the Week, after a top outing vs Aston Villa.
Manchester United Football Club are in a good place right now. The Red Devils are looking good to secure a top four finish, while another chance to win a trophy is just around the corner.
Erik ten Hag’s side need to finish the Premier League season strong, in spite of their recent injury troubles – particularly defensively.
Credit where it’s due, the back line have stepped up without the likes of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez. Victor Lindelof, in particular, has impressed the supporters recently.
The one they call the ‘Ice Man’ has taken command of that young back line, showcasing all his class and quality. He’s winning his one-on-one duels, proving he can compete aerially, playing the ball out from the back and throwing his body on the line when needed. I’m not sure what’s caused this change in positive attitude and mentality, but I’m absolutely loving it.
For his most-recent display, Lindelof was named in the latest BBC Team of the Week – the only Red Devil to be included this time around.

He was crucial against Villa. Not only did he make a huge goal line clearance in the second half, but the way he dealt with the in-form Ollie Watkins was pretty sensational. Villa had been on a brilliant run of goalscoring form up until this match and his defensive display is going unnoticed.
There were reports not too long ago suggesting that Lindelof may well be out the door this summer. I’d imagine that situation may have changed, with Harry Maguire likely deemed more expendable.
I’d definitely like to see Lindelof stick around if he keeps up this form until the end of the season.
