Victor Lindelof provides injury update, sends message to fans

Manchester United struggled against Young Boys last night, but eventually, the result was a positive one. Jose Mourinho’s men won the game 1-0, although they did it without their in-form centre-back, Victor Lindelof.

The one they call the Ice Man missed the match with an injury that he picked up during the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace. Before the game, Mourinho confirmed that Lindelof would be out for a while, now, the man himself has taken to Twitter to provide the fans with an update.

Although it’s somewhat cryptic from Lindelof, as he doesn’t put a timeframe on it, the former SL Benfica man has thanked the fans for all their messages, while showing his teammates huge support.

Will be working hard to come back as soon as possible. Good luck to the boys tonight. Thanks for all the messages??

I never thought I’d say it, but we will miss Lindelof. Over the last month or so, we’re beginning to see his talent and ability come to the fore; most notably in the two games against Juventus where he was brilliant.

The problem couldn’t have come at a worse time, either. The hectic winter period is just around the corner and that’s a point in the season where you need as many bodies as possible fit and ready to go. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that going into that period without our best defender could prove key to Mourinho losing his job, particularly when you consider the fact that Chris Smalling and Phil Jones is now looking like our first-choice partnership once again…
