Victor Lindelof is on his way back to Manchester, as his back issue seems to have flared up again.
Manchester United’s injury issues have been well-documented of late. From Paul Pogba to Donny van de Beek, from Marcus Rashford to Edinson Cavani. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has practically been working with one hand tied behind his back.
This international break was supposed to be a time for rest and recuperation for Manchester United players. Sadly, our injury issues have only worsened. A few days ago, it was Anthony Martial’s turn, who’d suffer a knee injury.
Now, Victor Lindelof is struggling with a back problem, Aftonbladet report. This is just another injury blow for United, with Lindelof now on his way back to Manchester after the club came to an agreement with the Swedish national team.
Sweden’s official stance is that Lindelof left the camp for ‘private and personal reasons’, though, Aftonbladet seems pretty confident it’s the Ice Man’s back that’s giving him trouble – again…
For anyone who’s been following United remotely-closely this term, they’ll know about Lindelof’s back. He’s struggled to play a few games on the bounce because of the rest he’s needed to keep himself available to play for the Old Trafford club.
At this point, Lindelof is just trying to get through the season by managing his minutes and not overdoing it. Obviously, with some huge games coming up for his club over the next week or so, Sweden were willing to give him some time off to try and get his back in a healthier place.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Lindelof has some sort of minor surgery to correct the issue when the season officially ends, which would be similar to Marcus Rashford’s plans.
