Jesse Lingard seems pretty happy that a certain Portuguese is at Man United…
With Manchester United on a two-week hiatus due to international football, us fans have a painful wait before Cristiano Ronaldo’s debut.
With our Portuguese superstar now in Manchester, that excitement is building. No doubt the 36-year-old is resting up in quarantine ahead of a potential Old Trafford bow next weekend.
I do wonder if Ronaldo was watching a few of his new teammates in action this evening playing for England. Well, if so, he would’ve been pretty happy watching Jesse Lingard – who does the Cristiano Ronaldo celebration as he opened the scoring for England.
Check out the video below:
So this celebration was a bit of the old ‘JLingz’ one combined with the Ronaldo trademark move after he scores a goal.
Either way, this was a touch of class by Lingard who just loves having fun when out on that football field. Can we just say what a classy finish it was from the Warrington-born-winger, too. He tucked that away wonderfully well.
Seriously, I have so much respect and admiration for Lingard. It would have been oh so easy for him to demand a permanent transfer away this summer. Instead, he wants to fight for his place here at the Theatre of Dreams. You have to be proud of his commitment and drive.
Lingard’s task has been made harder due to the arrival of Ronaldo, but even the 28-year-old is looking forward to welcoming the Greatest of All Time back home. You absolutely love to see it.
