Manchester United have officially unveiled Jose Mourinho as their third manager since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club. The self-proclaimed Special One was in fine form, as he answered various questions about differing topics.
One of the main talking points was signings, and Mourinho added that the club are looking to bring in four new players in total, with two (three almost) completed. Let’s hope that fourth name is Paul Pogba.
Then Jose was asked about the Giggs factor. Many expected the Welshman to stay on in a coaching role, but Mourinho revealed the club had offered Giggs a job – and he chose to pursue a managerial career away from the Theatre of Dreams.
The third question on the agenda was regarding bringing youth through, and our new boss batted that question straight back as he pulled out a list of 49 players he has given debuts to whilst at other clubs. Let’s hope that continues here.
Another big main talking point was Wayne Rooney, as Mourinho revealed that the United captain will not be playing as a midfielder for the coming season, but more as a #10 or #9.
