Manchester United have been without Paul Pogba for the better part of two months. The Frenchman as been missing with an ankle injury for what feels like forever.
Anyway, earlier in the week, we covered a story from talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil, who claimed that a source has told him Pogba won’t play for United again.
Yesterday evening, the 26-year-old midfielder uploaded a series of videos to his Instagram Stories – as he posts a further injury update, seemingly nearing a return.
The original return date for Pogba was derby day – which takes place on December 7th. The fact that the star midfielder is now back running and doing gym work suggests to me that he’s right on track to feature in that game – albeit likely from the bench.
At the end of the day, Pogba has been out so long that there’s no point in rushing him back. This United team need him in the long-term rather than in the here and now.
For what it’s worth, Fred has done pretty well in Pogba’s absence, though the sooner United’s #6 is back to his brilliant best, the better it’ll be for everyone involved with this club.
Hopefully, he comes back and hits the ground running with a real point to prove.
