Raphael Varane is grafting hard during quarantine, ahead of finalising his move to Man United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would’ve no doubt hoped to already have Raphael Varane fit and available for selection. Sadly, COVID-19 protocols had other ideas.
The top-class Frenchman is yet to make his move to Old Trafford official due to the fact that he’s still self-isolating. With just 6 days before our Premier League opener against Leeds United, things are looking bleak for Varane to make his debut in that one.
With that said, Varane is giving himself every chance, as he’s been spotted working hard in training while undergoing his quarantine period – before finalising his move to United and having his medical.
Check out the video of Raphael Varane here:
It’s definitely nice to see Varane putting in the effort in his new surroundings, though I’m fairly sure he’s not enjoying the Manchester weather at this point!
Varane has always given off the impression as someone who enjoys putting in the graft, and the fact that he’s already started is definitely an excellent first impression for us fans.
Now, it’s about undergoing that medical and getting his contract signed as soon as possible. At the very least, you’d hope that Varane is feeling fit enough to take his place on the substitutes bench next weekend – assuming all the paperwork is filed in time, of course.
I just can’t get over the fact that Varane is going to be a Manchester United player. We’re talking about one of the best centre-halves in the game who is going to be playing for us!
That said, I’m fairly sure Victor Lindelof isn’t going to relinquish his spot in the starting XI easily at all. The Ice Man had an excellent summer and played very well in pre-season against Everton yesterday.
