United put in a performance as bad as the state of the Old Trafford turf last night, but somehow still found a way to win as they have done many times before this season. This particular ability to come from behind has epitomised our fighting spirit and desire to win all season long.
Remarkably, we have now gained almost thirty points from losing positions this campaign, and although it doesn’t help our goal difference we seemingly find a way to fight back. Jay Rodriguez opened the scoring after a Michael Carrick error, before some excellent play from Shinji Kagawa allowed Rooney to level up shortly after. Rooney then bagged his brace and earned United all three points just before the 30 minute mark.
