In Fergie’s last game as United boss, United threw away a 5-2 lead in the space of 10 minutes gifting West Brom a point. Shinji Kagawa opened the scoring on 8 minutes which was closely followed by an Olsson own goal making it 2-0. Alex Buttner added a third for United, before Morrison pulled one back.
The second half started in West Brom’s favour, they came out with desire and seemed to want it more, Lukaku scored within five minutes to make it 3-2. Then United made it four and who else but Robin van Persie, ending any hopes of a West Brom comeback just minutes later. After missing at least three good chances in the first half, Javier Hernandez finally found a goal and made it 5-2. West Brom weren’t done though, Romelu Lukaku scored his second to make it 5-3, and moments later Yousouff Mulumbu made it 5-4. Romelu Lukaku scored his hat-trick and made it 5-5 after some sloppy defending.
