Watch: Andreas Pereira scores outrageously good volley vs Brentford

Andreas Pereira has probably just scored the best goal of his life vs Brentford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are getting some more minutes in the tank this evening, as Old Trafford welcomes back fans for this one.

The game itself has been an entertaining affair thus far, with Manchester United playing some lovely stuff. Some experienced players returning to the fold definitely helped out in that regard.

Anyway, to the Andreas Pereira goal. What I’ve just witnessed was outrageously good. The Brazilian would heat it clean on the volley, leaving the hapless Brentford goalkeeper with no chance. What a hit son, what a hit!

At first viewing, this is so Paul Scholes-esque! The technique, precision, accuracy and skill to not only think about doing this, but execute it like that, is almost unthinkable.

Fair play to Pereira, who had an up and down loan spell at Lazio last season. It would have been so easy for him to just switch off and forget about playing for United again. Instead, he’s coming back, looking to prove a point.

Whether he still has a chance in the United first-team remains to be seen. However, his talent is there for all to see and I genuinely do hope that a club takes a chance on Pereira – because when given regular minutes, he is more than capable of performing at a consistently high level.

If this is to be one of his final appearances for the Red Devils, what a stunning way to go out.

Nice one, Andreas!
