Cristiano Ronaldo has been spotted boarding a private plane amid late transfer interest from Man United.

This is not a drill. Out of nowhere, Manchester United are ‘confident’ that they can lure Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford… That’s according to talkSPORT.

The Manchester United legend will be leaving Juventus this summer. The club confirmed as much earlier today. It looked, for all the world, that Ronaldo was Manchester City-bound.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s watch, there was absolutely no chance United would go down without a fight. To the Baby Faced Assassin’s credit, he publicly came out and admitted he’d welcome Ronnie back with open arms during his pre-match press conference today.

This story is moving extremely fast as Tuesday’s transfer deadline looms. Now, Ronaldo has been spotted boarding a private plane at Turin airport. But where’s he going…?

Well, the Manchester clubs are the two heavy favourites at this juncture, and if that plane does indeed land at Manchester airport in a few hours time, this rumour is going to go into overdrive.

The question is, does he choose the club that made him as a player, to work under a manager rebuilding this United side? Or, does Ronaldo head to the dark side and pretty much guarantee himself major trophies this year. It’s definitely a tough choice.

Without wanting to get too excited, I’d absolutely love to see this happen. Why not welcome back Ronaldo with open arms for a couple of years? Let’s be honest, he’s still amongst the best players on the planet and I’d love to see him back home at Old Trafford.

I still believe City are favourites, but let’s see how this one plays out…
