Man United’s Anthony Elanga is putting the hard graft in ahead of the new season.
With the squad jetting off to Bangkok in just a couple of days for their pre-season tour, the AON Training Complex almost has a full complement of Manchester United players back involved.
Erik Ten Hag has been putting his players through their paces for the better part of a fortnight now, as those fitness levels continue to build.
Although some lads only returned this past Monday due to international commitments, it’s nice to see the squad back in action – meaning we’re not too far away from some actual matches being played.
Amongst those putting in the graft is Anthony Elanga. The young winger looked absolutely ripped during a gym session as he starts to build up those fitness levels ahead of the serious stuff starting next month.

Honestly, I’m getting tired just watching that workout!
Jokes aside, it’s always cool to see professionals unveil parts of their routines and fitness regimes, while Elanga must be doing plenty of things right as he’s made vast improvements as a footballer over the last year.
Elanga feels like one of the players who’ll benefit most from the appointment of Ten Hag. Those that put in the effort on the field will seamlessly transition to the Dutchman’s oppressive and hardworking style of play.
I guess as things stand, Elanga doesn’t really know whether he’ll be a regular starter or not. As of yet, no wingers have been signed, while many attackers (Lingard, Cavani, & Mata) have all moved on.
If anything, Elanga’s hand has strengthened and if he’s made a good early impression on Ten Hag, there’s no reason why the Sweden international cannot start games on a weekly basis.
