Manchester United once again looked pretty convincing yesterday, hitting Bournemouth for five at Old Trafford.
After a shaky start, the Red Devils quickly clicked into gear and started pinging the ball all over the field like we know they can. Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial all found themselves on the scoresheet as the confidence continues to flow through the squad.
Red Devils supporters all over the globe were absolutely loving what they were seeing, including BT Sport’s own Rio Ferdinand, who was in the studio watching the game.
Seemingly, Ferdinand was enjoying it too, judging by the live goal-reactions we were treated too, including the ex-Red Devil joining in on the Greenwood love-in, labelling him a ‘badman’…
Watch the Rio Ferdinand goal reactions here, cheers to BT Sport:
Stuff like this just makes me immensely happy. Ferdinand is a fan like every single one of us. He lives the highs and suffers through the lows, and I reckon he’s loving going into work right now given how well the team are playing under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
It was pretty spectacular watching Greenwood work this afternoon. Left-foot or right-foot, the pureness and precision in which he strikes a football with is pretty spectacular.
Since Fernandes arrived in Manchester, this team has really kicked it up a notch. Confidence is a massive factor as is team morale. We’ve always known this squad is immensely talented, though – and it’s nice for us to see it over prolonged periods of time.
Hopefully, this TV reaction from Ferdinand doesn’t go as viral as the old ‘Ole’s at the wheel, Man United are back’ one… Shortly after that, we endured our worst spell under the Baby Faced Assassin.
This time, though, it definitely feels different. Now it’s down for United to back their man with sufficient funds in the transfer market…
