Manchester United could be preparing for a fight, as they are believed to be subject of a bid for their club captain, Wayne Rooney. The 29-year old is wanted by Carlo Ancelotti according to Spanish media outlet, Cuatro, as he looks to bolster his attacking options.
Rooney has grown in confidence and form as the season has progressed, and at this moment in time he is scoring goals for fun and seems to be really enjoying his football.
Having found the net 13 times in 30 appearances for the club this season, Rooney now sits just 20 goals away from equalling Sir Bobby Charlton’s scoring record at the club, and arguably going down as one of the biggest legends in United history.
This is a deal that I cannot see happening whatsoever. United will already have Radamel Falcao to replace in the summer, and potentially Robin van Persie as well. So trying to find a suitor to come in instead of Wayne Rooney is a task that doesn’t need to be fulfilled this summer at least.
