Manchester United haven’t been at their best at the start of this season, and one man who has been made the scapegoat of the situation is Wayne Rooney, who’s form has been poor to say the least over these first few games, but Van Gaal keeps persisting with his captain.
Wayne Rooney has been backed by his former England boss and Manchester United assistant manager Steve McLaren, who has said that anyone who thinks Rooney has lost it just need to look at his goalscoring record.
Steve McClaren: “Anyone who thinks Rooney has lost it just has to look at his record. He’ll know he’s going to score again.”
It would be typical Wayne Rooney if he does start firing again soon. The England man usually goes through long periods without goals and then he’ll have a superb run of games shortly after. Heres to hoping that this is the case rather than him being finished.
