Manchester United are currently on a six game winning streak, and they are the in form side in the Premier League at the moment. A lot of that is down to two men – David de Gea and Wayne Rooney. The former has made save after save, whereas Rooney has scored plenty of goals in that run, whilst leading excellently from the front.
Whilst speaking about De Gea, Rooney said: “In my eyes he is the best keeper in the world. I hope he wins some of the top personal awards.”
Now that is some bold statement from our captain, but basing it on current form it’d take a brave man to disagree with Rooney. De Gea is in the form of his life at the moment, and he is winning football matches single-handedly.
The sooner Manchester United get him tied down to a new contract the better it’ll be for all involved. He’ll get a fat payout, whereas United will get his services for the next few years at the very least.
Is Rooney right to call De Gea the best in the world? Leave you’re thoughts in the comment box below.
