Wayne Rooney likely to miss the Manchester derby through injury

Just as Wayne Rooney is back from his suspension, the England striker has picked up yet another injury that is likely to keep him out of the Manchester derby. According to The Guardian, Rooney was seen limping at a sponsors event over the weekend, and it is thought that the 28-year old picked up the problem in training.

Manchester United have missed Wayne Rooney for the three games of his suspension despite what anyone says. He adds so much energy and desire to the team, and the chances are he would’ve replaced Juan Mata in the starting line-up for the battle against our local rivals.

It isn’t yet known how serious the problem is, but there is still a slight chance that he could prove his fitness before the game against Pellegrini’s men, so the injury cannot be that bad.

Do you reckon Rooney should start if he’s fit? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
