Manchester United’s club captain Wayne Rooney has been offered a massive opportunity to leave Old Trafford and kickstart his career whilst getting a hefty wage packet. That’s according to the Daily Mail, who say China are ready to make him one of the highest-paid players on the planet.
The 30-year-old has really struggled at the start of this season, and hasn’t looked anywhere near the player he once was at all. That has led to him being dropped from the starting line-up, and you have to say that Manchester United look a whole lot better without him.
Rooney has always been a player utilised in several different positions rather than nailing down one spot, and that has definitely hindered him in the latter stages of his career for both club and country.
If he himself realises that his days at the highest level are extremely numbered, moving to China may be a good way to finish his career and collect one final huge pay day.
The decision is solely in his hands, but at the end of the day, he’s not exactly on a small wage at Manchester United so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him stay here.
