Manchester United are so close to their first bit of major silverware in a few years, that the players can taste it. Louis van Gaal deserves plenty of credit for persisting with youth, and Wayne Rooney has had his say on just how good those youngsters have been.
“There’re a lot of young & new players so it could be a big day for us in the final & the start of something special for us, I hope.” Rooney said.
At the end of the day, without the youngsters, we would not be where we are at the moment. Marcus Rashford’s goals have been amazing recently, and at times this season, several others have all chipped in; Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Jesse Lingard, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Guillermo Varela to name a few.
Wayne Rooney is right, and he himself has a vital role in the development of those youngsters as their captain. He has to guide them, keep them on the right path and working hard.
