Manchester United’s club captain Wayne Rooney has been struggling on the pitch at the start of this season, but its great to see Louis van Gaal keep the faith with the 29-year old. The striker was interviewed earlier today, and asked several questions about his favourite goal, teammates and friends are.
One question that popped up was whether Rooney has ever been starstruck, and he responded by saying that the most recent time he was star stricken was he met Bastian Schweinsteiger for the first time.
“Probably the first time I met Bastian [who is sitting nearby].” Rooney said.
Bastian Schweinsteiger is one of the greatest midfielders to have ever played the game, and honestly its a privilege watching him at Old Trafford every week. He brings that calmness to the side, and lets not forget he cost a mere £6.5million in what could well turn out to be the deal of the season.
