Manchester United gave us the news that club captain Nemanja Vidic will be leaving at the end of the season, and the big Serb will be staying on as captain until his contract expires. We explore the options and find very little in the way of leaders on the pitch, and give our reasons as to why Wayne Rooney must be the next captain.
The first point of note is that we have no real leaders on the pitch which reflects our poor results recently. Wayne Rooney has been missing for most of those games, and the England #10 has been the shining light in what has been a poor season for Moyes’ men.
He seems to be the only one with a little bit of fight in him, he isn’t afraid to fight for the cause and get stuck in, and he’s showing that passion and dedication thats needed at the top level. Its all a bit ironic that the player who wanted out in the summer is now working the hardest for the team, now whether thats his way of showing other clubs that he’s still got it only time will tell…
If he does stay with United I wouldn’t hesitate in giving him the captaincy. Not because I want him to have it, but because he’s the best choice for the team going forward. The only way he wouldn’t get the captaincy is if David Moyes brought in someone else capable of the captaincy in the summer.
The United captains armband is a huge thing for the fans and the players, and Wayne Rooney must show that he is committed to this football club by respecting Manchester United on and off the pitch starting from the moment he pulls that armband on. The player is capable of becoming an all-time legend at this prestigious club, and he could go on to break record after record. I honestly believe he is the type of player who would thrive under the kind of pressure wearing the armband brings. We all know he likes being the main man…

Sorry for man utd fans and all players as well as man utd as a club in general but in my opinion Moyes is a simple manager like a baby who has no ability to manage the club but this is the problem of Sir Alex Ferguson. I think Ferguson was made a mistake in appointing Moyes as a boss, anyway something behind b/n Fergie and Moyes. In my opinion it is better moyes sacked your self rather killing another season this season already died i know moyes’s rank at his former club Everton was always 8th or 7th for almost 10 years.
