West Ham United plotting £4million move for 25-year-old Manchester United man: report

West Ham United are ready to send Joe Hart back to Manchester City this summer, before making a £4million move for Manchester United’s Sam Johnstone.

That’s what the Daily Mirror says, per the Daily Express, who adds that The Hammers have been unimpressed with performances from Hart; hence why they’re eyeing a move for Johnstone.

The 25-year-old has spent large portions of his United career out on loan and this season he’s been brilliant for Aston Villa in the Championship.

With that said, it’s always going to be tough for him to break through into the Manchester United first-team, particularly when he has the likes of David de Gea and Sergio Romero ahead of him; both of whom are top level goalkeepers, who’ve achieved so much in the game on the global level.

If the club can garner a £4million transfer fee for a man who’s played just a handful of first-team appearances, it makes perfect sense to move him on. I’d also probably have Joel Pereira higher in the pecking order right now, and it’d take a catastrophic injury situation for Johnstone to get a prolonged run in the first-team in Manchester.
