Manchester United were linked with a whole host of huge names throughout January, and in the end the club brought in Juan Mata for a record transfer fee. The Old Trafford side were reportedly in for many more targets, however none of them seemed to materialise in time.
According to many reputable sources, when the summer comes we’re expected to bring in at least three or four big name players. We’ll have a look at who those could be here, but before that why not check out the first part of this post; Who will Manchester United sell in the summer?
Anyway, onto the potential incomings:
Toni Kroos
Reportedly refusing to sign a new deal at Bayern, and he’ll certainly add an awful lot to our midfield. He has an eye for a pass, and also puts in a few tackles too. Exactly what we need.
Arturo Vidal
He himself claims to be the ‘best at his role’ in world football. Quite frankly I find it hard to disagree. He scores goals, creates chances for others and puts his weight about. A real old school box to box midfielder who has it all.
Ilkay Gundogan
Could be attainable as he doesn’t want to sign a new contract, however Real Madrid are in the hunt. Any deal could involve Shinji Kagawa going the other way making it cheaper.
Fernando
Linked with us towards the end of the window. His contract expires in the summer and we all know the Glazers love a bargain.
Adam Lallana
Fits the United mould; British and talented. He’ll come at a cost though as English players are often overpriced. Also suits Moyes’ new style of play using narrow wingers rather than traditional ones.
Luke Shaw
Another constantly linked to United, however Chelsea are favourites to sign him. He’s nowhere near his peak yet and already one of the best left-backs in the league. You’d get ten years service out of him too. Guaranteed future England international.
Fabio Coentrao
Struggling for games at Real Madrid and its public knowledge he wants out. Madrid wouldn’t let him go in January due to them not being able to find a replacement. He’s versatile and he’ll be cheap.

Moyes and his Everton coaches should be sacked cause there is no point bringing all these talents when the Manager doesn’t know how to maximize their talents.
Does it matter? We could have the two best central midfielders in the world but Moeys would continue to cross the ball at all costs!
