Wigan boss confirms Will Keane is set to join the Championship side on loan

Last week there were widespread reports which suggested Will Keane would seal a loan move to Npower Championship side Wigan Athletic. And whilst that move is still looking likely to happen, it won’t be until next week at the earliest according to Latics manager, Owen Coyle.

Whilst speaking to BBC Radio Manchester, Owen Coyle said:

‘I spoke to David Moyes on Wednesday,’

‘Given the lad’s had a serious injury, we’ll always be guided by Manchester United in terms of when they feel is the right time for him to go out on loan.

‘I think this week will be too soon, given the slight knock he had, but if he recovers from that and the medical team are happy with him, there’s a possibility we could have that sorted by next week.

‘We have a tremendous relationship and David has said he’ll keep me up to speed.’

Its great to see that David Moyes is keeping an eye on Will Keane’s recovery from injury, because the striker is still an excellent talent despite his serious injury, and its important that Keane isn’t rushed back into competitive action.

A loan move to Wigan, playing alongside fellow Manchester United teammate Nick Powell is a mouthwatering prospect for United fans, and one that could be a potential partnership back at Old Trafford in the not too distant future.
