Will Manchester United finish in the top four?

Manchester United lost again at the weekend, and once again didn’t look all that convincing in terms of their performance. Its hard to fathom how a team who are Barclays Premier League champions have fallen so far in such a short space of time, and now look in danger on missing out on major European football next season.

Going off current form, Moyes’ men have absolutely no chance of finishing in the top four. However, if we can string a run of wins together (which looks very unlikely at the moment), then we could somehow work our way into Champions League contention.

The signing of Juan Mata could prove pivotal. The Spaniard isn’t really match fit yet and already has two assists to his name. He gives us what we so desperately crave; Assists. The return of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney could also be crucial, however like Mata the pair aren’t match-fit as of yet. We need to keep this trio fit until the end of the season.

We’ve already played Chelsea and Tottenham twice, and we host both Manchester City and Liverpool in March. We also have a trip to Arsenal in just under a fortnight, meaning that April and onwards are all fixtures a club of United’s stature should be winning. If we’re within range of Liverpool and Tottenham come the start of April, we’ll have a great chance.

Belief is the key, and luckily its in United’s DNA to fight right until the end. The lads must now give it their all from now until May. Thats all we ask for.

For me United have an outside chance of finishing in the top four, but I feel we’ll just miss out. Its going to take calamitous  collapses from both Tottenham and Liverpool if we’re to end up fourth, and sadly I don’t see that happening.
