Wolves defender Max Kilman is ‘being monitored’ by Man United: report

Man United have eyes on Wolves defender, Max Kilman.

Ralf Rangnick has now been in place for close to two months. The German will be starting to have a clearer picture in his mind in regards to those players who are good enough – and those that aren’t…

With the former RB Leipzig boss staying on in a consultancy role afterwards, it make sense to let him earmark potential additions to the squad even if he won’t be managing said players directly.

Rangnick knows what he’s doing. His biggest trait is developing younger players for the future and identifying signings that his club can make.

Well today, 90min.com throw a new name into the ring; Max Kilman.

Defence has been the real problem area this term, which is surprising given the arrival of Raphael Varane. However, the Frenchman has spent far too much time out injured. That hasn’t helped our case at all.

In regards to Kilman, the 24-year-old Premier League defender is ‘being monitored’ after an impressive season under new Wolves manager, Bruno Lage.

The Englishman has featured in each of Wolves’ 20 Premier League games so far this term, not only proving his on-field skill, but always being available to play.

It goes without saying, the likes of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones cannot be trusted in that regard, while Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire continue to show inconsistency within their game. There’s no doubt reinforcements are needed at the heart of our back line.

Is Kilman good enough? Well, who knows how he’ll perform under the pressure of playing for the biggest club in the country. One thing I will say is that he simply cannot do any worse than we’re performing back there right now.

We’ve conceded 29 goals, which is almost double Wolves’ 15 at this stage in the season. Sure, they play a more defensive style of play but Kilman has played a huge part in their stern defence.

Would a Man United move for Max Kilman make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
