Manchester United have an embarrassment of riches at their disposal. Jose Mourinho certainly needs reinforcements.
However, The Glazers may have to dig deep into their pockets if they want to land Ruben Neves. According to The Times, per The Metro, Nuno Espirito Santo has slapped an £110million price-tag on the immensely gifted 21-year-old…
At the months’ start, it was The Metro who claimed United and City would go head-to-head for his signature, but it is clear that Wolverhampton Wanderers aren’t planning on letting their star man leave on the cheap.
Midfield hasn’t exactly been a success under the self-proclaimed Special One’s leadership, no doubt Never would bring some creativity, along with a spark, to a struggling area of the field.
With that said, I’m just not sure whether the move will happen so soon. Don’t forget that Andreas Pereira has emerged recently, while Fred was only signed in the summer. Perhaps things could change if Paul Pogba decides to quit out on Old Trafford – but bringing in Neves as a replacement, in a deal that’ll likely cost more than we’ll get if we sell Pogba, would be massively underwhelming.
For now, we just have to sit tight I suppose. I doubt anything major will happen in January, so in all likelihood, we’ll be looking at next summer as a realistic possibility.
