After months of trying, Paul Pogba finally got his Manchester United wish. Jose Mourinho was relieved of his duties as manager and since then, the French midfielder has gone from strength-to-strength.
Now, in an exclusive from The Sun, it is claimed that Pogba is now ready to sit down with United and open contract talks.
This is a dramatic U-turn from the world-class 25-year-old, and it’s pretty obvious that Mourinho really was the huge problem at United.
As for Pogba, he has been playing fantastically recently. This is by far and away his best stretch of form and it simply cannot be just a coincidence.
If he continues in this way from now until the season’s end, then he will have earned my trust back. I wasn’t happy with the way he dealt with things before Mourinho lost his job, but his talent is just undeniable.
In terms of title hopes, we need him. Next season could well be a huge one for United and if Pogba is at the heart of our midfield, playing like this, we’ll have a great chance at beating anyone on any day.
