Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney is ready to sign a new contract at the club, and end his career under the guidance of Jose Mourinho. That’s according to the Sun on Sunday, who say the 30-year-old would be open to putting pen to paper on a new deal, despite having three years left to run.
The incoming Mourinho is believed to be a huge admirer of the United and England captain, and that was evident when he tried to lure him to Chelsea a few years ago.
The Sun go on to add that the England record holder is set to play in midfield for the self-proclaimed Special One, as he doesn’t really have the legs to play as a striker at this stage in his career.
Honestly, you have to give plenty of credit to Wayne Rooney. Whenever he looks dead and buried with the media on top of him, he always seems to bounce back and silence them. Look at his recent performances for England as well as Manchester United in the FA Cup final, and he certainly acquitted himself superbly in the middle of the park.
