Manchester United have been clearly considering getting rid of Louis van Gaal over the last month or so, with just two managers on the name of everybody’s lips, regarding taking over from the Iron Tulip. According to The Times, Jose Mourinho ‘craves’ the Manchester United managerial role.
It has always felt like the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ has wanted the Manchester United job ever since Sir Alex Ferguson has retired, and it always seemed likely he’d take over from the great Scot.
However that wasn’t the case, with the Manchester United hierarchy clearly not keen on bringing him in as they didn’t think he’d stick around for longer than the usual three or four year stints he does at each club he manages.
At this point in time, Manchester United fans would probably take anyone rather than Louis van Gaal at this point, but I just can’t see United pulling the trigger until the end of the season.
