Manchester United Football Club pulled off an incredible comeback last time out, beating Newcastle United 3-2 – despite being 2-0 down with just over twenty minutes left.
However, according to the Daily Mirror per Sports Mole, a certain Zinedine Zidane is ‘on standby’ for the Old Trafford hot seat, with the Frenchman reportedly told to reject all other job offers in case the United job becomes available.
Apparently, United still plan to bring in the ex-Real Madrid manager to replace Mourinho at some point in time. Which, after the weekend, is an absolute shambles.
The board should be fully behind the current man in charge. The last thing they should be doing is sounding out a replacement while Mourinho is still at the helm. That’s just blatant disrespect of a man who is arguably the third-best manager in Premier League history.
Sure, Mourinho has his faults, the performances recently haven’t been anywhere near good enough, but United have to give him every chance to turn things around. The amazing victory at the weekend could well kickstart the season, so I don’t see why the board are actively trying to replace him at this point in time…
