World class right-back could have just revealed Schweinsteiger’s next destination

Manchester United Football Club and in particular Jose Mourinho, are clearly looking to move Bastian Schweinsteiger on this summer, with the midfielder being forced to train with United’s youngsters if reports are to be believed. Now, his former teammate and friend in Phillipp Lahm has had his say.

“It is important to get players who achieved a lot involved,” Lahm is quoted as saying.

“Someone like Schweinsteiger is destined to work at Bayern again.”

Whether that’s in a playing capacity, or some form of coaching role remains to be seen. You’d imagine the latter would be the most likely, because Schweinsteiger’s injury record of late hasn’t been brilliant whatsoever.

Bayern Munich’s Chief Executive has seemingly shut down the idea of a footballing return for the former Bayern man, but may welcome him back in another capacity.

“We are happy to sit down with him if he ever expresses a desire to return to Bayern in a different role,” Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

He’s now 32, and his career is slowly drawing to a close. Schweinsteiger has recently announced his retirement from international football as well. Meaning he probably knows he has to turn all of his attentions to domestic football to prolong his career.
