Xherdan Shaqiri hints at move away from Bayern, Manchester United interested

Xherdan Shaqiri was rated as one of Europe’s hottest properties when he made the move to Bayern Munich two years ago, however a lack of playing time has faltered his development. Now 22, Shaqiri is looking for a move away from Bavaria unless his playing time dramatically increases.

The player himself acknowledges that he now has to make a decision about his future, and adds that England could be a possible destination if his situation doesn’t change.

Manchester United are the reported interested parties in the Swiss international.

“It’s clear that I cannot continue like this. If nothing changes, I will have to make some changes myself,” Shaqiri said.

“I want to play in the important games as well and not just in the Bundesliga. I don’t want to go through another year like this.”

“England would be an option. If I were to leave Bayern, it will be for a foreign club. But it will have to be a club challenging for the title.”

At just 22, Shaqiri would be well worth the gamble for any club willing to spend the £12million Bayern reportedly want. He still has plenty of developing to do and he needs regular playing time to improve.
