Man United could make their move for Youri Tielemans this month.
Manchester United Football Club are slowly adapting under Erik ten Hag, though the process will take time.
Credit where it’s due, the lads are playing some confident football right now, with Ten Hag certainly bringing the good mood back to the Theatre of Dreams.
Our manager strikes me as someone who’ll keep pushing hard while the iron is hot – hence why the club is still looking to improve the squad in the January transfer window, despite the lack of money available.
A couple of loans have been done so far, though the latest report links Man United with a permanent transfer for Youri Tielemans.
It’s journalist Thomas Alencar with the information, citing another journalist, Sacha Tavolieri.
Apparently, United is ‘interested’ in the 25-year-old, who is actually out of contract this coming summer.
On top of that, Tielemans has now been named ‘one of the possibilities’ for United in the January transfer window, following the injury to Donny van de Beek.
Tielemans is someone who always seems to be linked with a move to United. He’s worked wonders at Leicester City and perhaps the Belgian now feels he’s ready to take that next step.
Signing him on a free transfer over the summer would be an astute piece of business as there’s very little risk involved but plenty of upside. However, it looks as though United are willing to pay a minimal fee to beat out the competition and get him in early.
Tielemans isn’t someone who’d come in and start every game, rather he could drift in and out of the side when required. I’d view this deal as someone who is a long-term answer to Christian Eriksen, though it’d probably mean fewer minutes for the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay.
