Manchester United Football Club could be in the hunt for a new manager in the not too distant future.
The results being produced at the moment, quite simply, aren’t good enough. The Red Devils are struggling both on and off the field. Jose Mourinho is likely to be the fall-guy.
Bookmakers have installed Zinedine Zidane as the early favourite. He’s currently out of work after giving up his job at Real Madrid over the summer.
Now, according to the Manchester Evening News, Zizou’s chances at taking the job at United have increased due to his admiration for three Reds whom he tried to sign during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Those players including the French duo of Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial. The pair have both had their issues under Mourinho. The latter wanted to leave, while the former has made it pretty clear that he’s had enough of the self-proclaimed Special One. The third player? David de Gea. He’s been our only world-class performer, week-in-week-out, for the last half-decade.
All these players would improve any side in world football, I don’t think that can be argued. These are footballers that we should be looking to build a team around. Who knows, perhaps Zidane would do exactly that if he did get the job.
